Cork Opera House, Cyprus Avenue, Live at the Marquee: upcoming gigs in Cork and what the audience thought of them.
Cork’s biggest summer concerts take place outdoors. Live at the Marquee runs a season of shows under a large tent, with a gig most evenings from June into July, and has been part of the city’s summer since 2005. Stadium-size tours play Virgin Media Park, the rugby ground on Pearse Road in Ballyphehane, and SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, on the Marina in Ballintemple.
The rest of the year, the city has several venues with a long history:
- Cork Opera House, on Emmet Place behind the Crawford Art Gallery, with around 1,000 seats in its main auditorium;
- Cyprus Avenue, on Caroline Street, for touring bands, tribute nights and gigs on its rooftop, Wavelength;
- the Everyman, on MacCurtain Street, a 650-seat theatre opened in 1897 that also hosts concerts;
- Triskel Christchurch, off South Main Street, a former 18th-century church now used for live music, jazz and cinema.
This page lists upcoming concerts in Cork with the artist’s average rating and reviews from earlier dates of the tour. Venue criteria (comfort, view, access) are rated separately, which helps when you are choosing between a seated show at the Opera House and a standing gig at Cyprus Avenue.
