Review publication and moderation policy
This is an English translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
This page sets out how online reviews are published and processed, in accordance with Article L. 111-7-2 of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation) and Decree No. 2017-1436 of 29 September 2017.
Who can post a review?
- Any registered member.
- During MyCritik’s launch phase, a visitor without an account can also give a review from the website. These reviews are signed “An audience member” with the label No account, and their rating counts towards the average in the same way as a member’s. They are linked to the browser that posted them, which can edit or delete them.
- Only one review per member (or per browser, without an account) and per performance; it can be edited or deleted at any time by its author.
- A review can be posted only after the performance has started, and never for a cancelled performance.
- By posting, the member declares that they attended the performance. MyCritik does not verify attendance (no ticket checks): this lack of verification is stated here as required by the regulations.
- No consideration is offered in exchange for a review. Reviews are neither bought nor commissioned by artists, producers or venues.
Editorial reviews
Some reviews are posted by the official “MyCritik editorial team” account. They carry the Editorial badge wherever they appear. They are written by a member of the team who attended the performance, without any consideration from the artist, producer or venue, and they follow the same rules as other reviews. Their rating counts towards the average in the same way as any member’s.
Content of a review
A review comprises an overall rating from 1 to 5, optional ratings for individual criteria (specific to each type of show, plus common criteria about the venue: comfort, view, access, value for money), and optional text.
Display order
Each review shows its date of publication and, if its author edited it after publication, the date it was last edited; the date of the performance appears at the top of the page that groups the reviews together. By default, reviews are displayed from newest to oldest. They can be sorted by rating. The average rating displayed is the arithmetic mean of the overall ratings of published reviews; a venue’s rating is the average of the common criteria. Reviews are kept for as long as their author does not delete them.
Moderation
- Automatic filtering: texts containing prohibited terms are rejected or hidden; certain terms trigger a human review.
- Publication: reviews are published as soon as they are posted, without prior review, except those that automatic filtering sends for review. Moderation takes place afterwards, on our own initiative or following a report.
- Reporting: anyone can report a review free of charge, with or without an account, by giving a reason, in particular “Fake or misleading review”. Once a review has been reported by more than 3 different members, it is hidden pending a moderator’s decision; reports made without an account are examined by the team without the review being hidden.
- Grounds for rejection or removal: insulting, defamatory, discriminatory or hateful remarks; invasion of privacy; personal contact details; content unrelated to the performance; advertising or conflict of interest (an artist, venue or producer rating their own show); manifestly fake reviews.
- A review is never removed solely because it is negative.
- Every decision to reject or remove a review is reasoned; the reason is communicated to the author, who may challenge the decision by writing to sylvain@greenred.fr.
- Indicative processing time for pending reviews and reports: 48 working hours.
Photos
Only photos are accepted, from the time the doors open (3 hours before the start). Duplicates are detected automatically. Photos are moderated according to the same principles. No videos: find out why.
