Parking near Cork Opera House - Carroll's Quay and Paul Street

By The MyCritik editorial team · information checked on 15 October 2026 · 2 min read

The Opera House has no car park of its own, but it has a deal with the one across the river. Book it before you leave home, because the discount does not work at the barrier.

Q-Park Carroll's Quay: the theatre's pick

Q-Park Carroll's Quay (Carroll's Quay, T23 P2TX) is on the north bank of the Lee, directly across Christy Ring Bridge from the theatre. The Opera House puts it at a 2-minute walk from its front door, and it is open 24 hours, so a late curtain is never a problem.

Patrons get 25% off if they book parking online before the visit. You receive a discount code after booking. Tickets bought on site at the car park do not get the discount.

Bonus: the bridge drops you at the Opera House door, and the Coburg Street pubs are a short walk from the car park for a drink afterwards. See where to eat near Cork Opera House.

Paul Street car park

The council's Paul Street multi-storey (749 spaces) is a few minutes' walk south-west of the theatre. It opens at 7.30am Monday to Saturday and 11.30am on Sunday, and closes at midnight every day. A flat rate of 5 euro applies from 5pm to midnight, which suits an evening show nicely. Overnight parking is not allowed, so do not leave the car there after a post-show dinner that runs late. For a matinée you pay the hourly rate instead; the council's current hourly tariff took effect on 2 September 2026, so check its site for the figure.

Accessible parking

Cork City Council provides accessible parking for holders of a Disabled Person's Parking Permit. The nearest bays are on Emmet Place, alongside the Crawford Art Gallery, right next to the theatre. Arrive early on a busy panto night.

Inside, the lift is to the left of the main entrance. Wheelchair spaces (up to five per show) are booked through the box office on 021 427 0022.

Leaving the car at home

Most city-centre buses stop within a few minutes' walk, and there is a TFI Bikes station by the door. Details are in getting to Cork Opera House, and our seating guide covers where to sit.
