Parking at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin - Stephen's Green Q-Park

This one is simple. The Gaiety has no car park of its own, but Q-Park St Stephen's Green is right across South King Street, about a 2-minute walk. Park there and you can be in your seat five minutes later. Don't bother hunting for a street space around Grafton Street.

Q-Park St Stephen's Green

• Where: opposite the theatre.
• Open: 24 hours.
• Pre-book discount: 25% off when you book online in advance with the code GT25.
• Pay on arrival: €13 for parking from 5pm to 3am, according to the theatre. Pay at a pay station within 15 minutes of arriving. This rate is only available at the car park, not online.
• Entry and exit: number plate recognition, so no ticket to lose. Some Q-Park sites have EV charging.

One catch: discounts can't be added afterwards. If you just drive in and take a ticket without using GT25 or the evening rate, you pay the full rate.

For an evening show, the €13 rate is hard to beat. For a matinee, compare it with the pre-booked price with GT25.

Panto season

The Gaiety has staged a panto every Christmas since 1873, and it fills the house with families. It also runs while Grafton Street is full of Christmas shoppers heading for the same car park. Pre-book with GT25 for a December weekend, or take the Luas.

Blue Badge and accessible parking

The theatre directs patrons who need accessible parking to the St Stephen's Green Q-Park. From there, the ramped entrance is a door beside the main entrance on South King Street, and it leads onto the Parterre. That's the only step-free level, with four wheelchair spaces and accessible toilets. There's no lift. For an access booking, call the box office's access line (option 3) and mention parking when you book.

The Luas stops 2 minutes away at St Stephen's Green, and the taxi ranks are on Grafton Street: see getting to the Gaiety Theatre. Once you've parked, the pubs and restaurants around Grafton Street are in where to eat near the Gaiety Theatre, and best seats at the Gaiety Theatre helps you pick a level.
