Concerts in Cardiff
Utilita Arena, Principality Stadium, Tramshed: upcoming gigs in Cardiff and what the audience made of them.
Cardiff is one of the easiest cities in the UK to see a big gig: both of its largest venues are in the city centre, within walking distance of the stations. The Utilita Arena Cardiff, on Mary Ann Street, hosts most arena tours and is a few minutes on foot from Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street. The Principality Stadium, beside the River Taff, stages the biggest stadium concerts, usually in summer.
For smaller and mid-sized gigs:
- Tramshed, in a former tram depot in Grangetown, for indie, rock, hip-hop and electronic acts;
- Clwb Ifor Bach, on Womanby Street, a long-standing club that has championed Welsh-language and up-and-coming bands;
- the Wales Millennium Centre, in Cardiff Bay, which programmes concerts alongside its musicals and opera.
A new indoor arena is being built at Atlantic Wharf in Cardiff Bay, but for now the Utilita Arena remains the city’s main indoor venue.
This page lists upcoming concerts in Cardiff with the artist’s average rating and reviews from earlier dates of the tour. Venue criteria are rated separately, so you can see how the arena compares with a smaller room. For theatre and comedy as well, see what’s on in Cardiff.
