Concerts in Edinburgh
Usher Hall, Corn Exchange, Murrayfield: upcoming concerts in Edinburgh and what the audience thought.
Edinburgh has no large indoor arena, so its concerts are spread across halls, theatres and, in summer, a stadium. The Usher Hall, on Lothian Road in the West End, is the city’s main concert hall, with around 2,200 seats; it hosts orchestras and classical concerts as well as rock, pop and folk.
Other venues on the gig circuit:
- the Edinburgh Playhouse, at the top of Leith Walk, the largest theatre in Scotland, which takes concerts between its musicals;
- the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, on New Market Road near Slateford station, a standing venue for up to around 3,000 people;
- the Queen’s Hall, on Clerk Street, a smaller hall for jazz, folk and chamber music;
- Scottish Gas Murrayfield, the rugby stadium in the west of the city, which hosts major stadium concerts in summer and has its own tram stop.
This page lists upcoming concerts in Edinburgh with the artist’s average rating and reviews from earlier dates of the tour. Venue criteria are rated separately, so you can tell a great show from a great room. During the August festivals the city is especially busy: see what’s on in Edinburgh for theatre and comedy too.

Frequently asked questions
What are the main concert venues in Edinburgh?
The Usher Hall on Lothian Road is the main concert hall. The Edinburgh Playhouse and the Corn Exchange take bigger touring acts, the Queen’s Hall hosts smaller concerts, and Scottish Gas Murrayfield is used for stadium shows in summer.
How do I get to a concert at Murrayfield?
Edinburgh Trams stop at Murrayfield, next to the stadium, and the Balgreen stop is close to the west side. Lothian buses along Gorgie Road also serve the area; check tram and bus service updates on concert days, as extra services or diversions are common.
How do I get to the Edinburgh Corn Exchange?
The Corn Exchange is on New Market Road in the south-west of the city, a short walk from Slateford railway station. Several Lothian bus routes stop nearby, and the venue has its own car park.
Does Edinburgh have an arena?
Not at present: an indoor arena is planned at Edinburgh Park but has not been built yet, so the largest indoor venues are the Edinburgh Playhouse, the Corn Exchange and the Usher Hall. The biggest tours play Scottish Gas Murrayfield in summer or the arenas in Glasgow.
