Utilita Arena, City Hall, Tramlines: upcoming gigs in Sheffield and honest reviews from the crowd.
Sheffield has a music history out of proportion to its size: the Human League, Def Leppard, Pulp and Arctic Monkeys all came out of the city. Today its biggest gigs take place at the Utilita Arena Sheffield, in the Lower Don Valley east of the centre. The arena has its own Supertram stop, Arena / Olympic Legacy Park, on the Yellow Route and the Tram Train, a couple of minutes’ walk from the doors.
In the city centre, Sheffield City Hall, on Barker’s Pool, is a listed concert hall whose main Oval Hall seats over 2,000 people; it hosts rock, pop, classical concerts and comedy. Around it, a network of smaller clubs and bars keeps the local scene busy. Each July, the Tramlines festival takes over Hillsborough Park, in the north-west of the city, also served by Supertram.
This page lists upcoming concerts in Sheffield with the artist’s average rating and reviews from earlier dates of the tour. Venue criteria are rated separately, so you can compare the arena and the City Hall on sound, view and access. For theatre and comedy too, see what’s on in Sheffield.
