Best seats at Croke Park for a concert - stands, pitch, tips

Coming up at Croke Park
Croke Park was built for Gaelic football and hurling, not for gigs. That shapes everything: a huge, rectangular bowl holding 82,300 for a match and around 80,000 for a concert, with the stage pushed up against one end. U2 played here first in 1985. Since then it has hosted Springsteen, Coldplay, Oasis and, in 2026, The Weeknd and Bon Jovi.
The layout of Croke Park
- Pitch standing
- Where the noise is. Over-14s only; for the barrier, be at the gates when they open.
- Lower levels and end stand
- The lower levels of the Hogan and Cusack sit close to the stage. The end stand faces it straight on, from a long way off.
- Upper levels
- Higher up the side stands, you see the whole bowl and more of the screens.
- Far and high
- Towards the far end and high up, you watch the screens more than the stage.
- Our pick
- A lower-level seat in the Hogan or the Cusack, in the half of the stand closest to the stage.
How the stadium is laid out
Four sides, each with its own story:
- The Hogan Stand, along one touchline, named after Tipperary player Michael Hogan, shot dead here on Bloody Sunday in 1920.
- The Cusack Stand, opposite, named after the GAA's founder, with its main, premium and upper levels.
- The Davin Stand at one end, on the old Canal End.
- Hill 16 at the other end, the famous terrace once known as Hill 60. Contrary to the legend, it was not built from the rubble of the GPO after the 1916 Rising.
Seats are numbered by level: Level 3 blocks run from 301 to 336. The stadium's online map lets you pick a stand and block and see a photo of the view from it.

Our picks
For an end-stage show, the side stands win. A seat in the lower levels of the Hogan or Cusack, in the half of the stand closest to the stage, puts you near the action with a clear sightline over the pitch crowd.
The further you go towards the far end and the higher you climb, the more you are watching the screens. The end stand facing the stage gives a straight-on view of the full production, but from a long way off. Check the plan for your show before buying, as the stage end can change.
The pitch
Pitch standing is where the noise is, and it is for over-14s only. Under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (aged 25 or over at the 2025 Oasis shows) who stays with them. For the barrier, you need to be at the gates when they open, but early queuing is banned and early arrivals are turned away. Standing ticket holders used a separate entrance on Foster Terrace in 2025.
Accessibility
Wheelchair viewing areas are on Level 4 of the Cusack and Davin stands, reached by lifts, escalators and ramps. For concerts, book through the promoter and ask about parking at the same time: see parking at Croke Park.
