Getting to Croke Park for a concert - trains, Luas, bus, walking

Coming up at Croke Park
Croke Park is 15 minutes' walk from O'Connell Street, which is lucky, because on a concert day you will walk at least part of it whatever you do. The stadium sits in the terraced streets of Drumcondra and Ballybough, and with 80,000 people coming in, the Gardaí close the roads and throw a cordon around the whole block.

The cordon: what changes on show day
Road closures run before, during and after every event. Taxis are not allowed inside the cordon, and coaches cannot drop off on the main roads around the stadium. Queuing early is banned: for the 2026 Bon Jovi show, gates opened at 5pm and anyone turning up hours before was turned away at the restricted points.
Your ticket has a coloured route that sends you to the right side of the ground. At the 2025 Oasis shows:
- Blue, Hogan Stand: via Jones' Road / Russell Street
- Red, Cusack Stand: via St James's Avenue, off Clonliffe Road
- Yellow, Davin Stand: via St Margaret's Avenue
- Green, standing on the pitch: via Foster Terrace
Check your own ticket, as routes can change from show to show.
By train, DART and Luas
- Drumcondra station (Maynooth line) is the closest, about five minutes away. Irish Rail runs special trains and extra Maynooth services on event days.
- Connolly is 15 to 20 minutes on foot, and serves the DART, Intercity trains and the Luas Red Line.
- Clontarf Road DART is 20 to 25 minutes away.
- On the Luas Green Line, get off at Parnell or Marlborough, both about 1 km (15 minutes) away.
After the show, expect long queues at Drumcondra and Connolly. Walking into town and catching a Luas or bus from O'Connell Street often beats waiting on a platform. The TFI app has the last services on the night.
By bus, bike or on foot
Around 20 Dublin Bus routes pass near the stadium, including the 1, 7, 13, 16, 27, 33, 41 and the H1, H2 and H3. On show nights they get diverted around the closures, so check the TFI Live app. The nearest Dublinbikes stations are on the North Circular Road and at the Mater.
Walking from the city centre takes about 15 minutes, up Gardiner Street or past Mountjoy Square. That route also takes you past several pubs: see where to eat near Croke Park.
Getting home
The promoter of the 2026 show told fans to allow at least three extra hours for the journey home and to book return transport with licensed operators, as it runs none itself. Taxis are only possible outside the cordon, so walk towards the city centre or Drumcondra first.
