All dates and reviews

The Aviva has its own railway station. Lansdowne Road DART stop sits right against the stadium, because the ground was squeezed in beside the line in 2010, on the site of the Lansdowne Road ground that dated back to 1872. Sixty-five thousand people at a concert, though, do not fit on one platform, so on show night your feet do most of the work.

Stops around Aviva Stadium

Walking routes calculated with OpenStreetMap, for guidance only.

DART: Lansdowne Road or Grand Canal Dock

Lansdowne Road station is about a two-minute walk from the stadium. From the city centre, take a southbound DART from Connolly, Tara Street or Pearse: Lansdowne Road is three stops from Pearse. Buy a Leap Card or a return before you travel to skip the ticket queue on the way home.

The station does close at times: TFI flagged a closure from 3.30pm on 1 October 2026, sending passengers to Grand Canal Dock instead, about 15 minutes' walk away down Barrow Street and Shelbourne Road. Check TFI's event page for your date.

From Heuston, take the Luas Red Line to Connolly and change to the DART.

Luas and buses

There is no Luas stop near the stadium. Charlemont on the Green Line and The Point on the Red Line are both 20 to 25 minutes' walk away.

Buses that run along Northumberland Road or Pembroke Road suit the Orange, Blue and Green routes. Those to Ringsend and Irishtown suit the Red route, and Ringsend or Sandymount buses the Purple route. Bus Éireann's Expressway route 2 stops on Merrion Road in Ballsbridge (stop 417), 15 minutes away. Nitelink buses run on Friday and Saturday nights only.

Your coloured entry route

The Aviva sits among narrow residential streets, and every ticket carries a colour:

  • Orange: Lansdowne Lane, off Shelbourne Road (Level 1, west side)
  • Blue: Shelbourne Road (west side, all levels)
  • Green: Lansdowne Road (south side)
  • Red: Bath Avenue (north and east)
  • Purple: Herbert Road (east side)

Bags are checked at the outer cordon, and only one bag up to A4 size is allowed per person.

Walking and getting home

TFI calls walking the main way to and from a concert. From the stadium, allow about 20 minutes to Merrion Square and 25 minutes to St Stephen's Green, Grafton Street or Trinity. Taxis take 9 to 16 minutes from town in normal traffic, but roads around the ground close on show days, so arrange pick-up a few streets away.
