Coming up at Ulster Hall Belfast
Charles Dickens read here, and Led Zeppelin played "Stairway to Heaven" live for the first time here in 1971. The Ulster Hall has stood on Bedford Street since 1862, two minutes from City Hall, which makes it the easiest big venue in Belfast to reach without a car.

On foot and by bus
Bedford Street is a couple of minutes south of City Hall and Donegall Square. The venue puts it at about a two-minute walk from the city centre, and from the City Hall bus stops, where the main Metro routes stop.
The Glider also comes through the City Hall area: G1 east to west across the city, G2 out to Titanic Quarter. Remember that Glider tickets are bought before boarding, at the halt machine (cash or contactless) or on the mLink app. After a gig, most of the crowd walks back up to City Hall; check the Translink journey planner for your last one.
By train: Grand Central
Belfast Grand Central opened in 2024, replacing Great Victoria Street station, and is now the city's main rail and bus station. It serves the Bangor, Derry~Londonderry, Larne and Portadown lines and the Enterprise to Dublin. From the station, walk into town via Glengall Street and Great Victoria Street to Bedford Street: a short walk, a bit further than the old station was.
If you are heading back to Dublin, check the last Enterprise before booking: a headliner rarely comes on early, and missing the train means a night in Belfast.
Doors, bags and the late crowd
- Door times are on each event page. The hall suggests arriving 30 to 60 minutes early to scan tickets, find seats and get to the bar.
- Latecomers may have to wait for a suitable break, sometimes the interval.
- Bags bigger than a laptop bag may be refused. There is a cloakroom only for standing gigs.
- Standing areas are 16+ unless the event says otherwise, and under-16s with standing tickets are turned away without a refund.
Step-free access
Entry is at street level and lifts serve all floors. There are designated drop-off points, and the Great Northern car park nearby has accessible spaces; see parking at the Ulster Hall. Instead of a hearing loop, the hall uses Mobile Connect: the free Sennheiser app streams the show's sound to your own phone and headphones.
