Getting to the Eventim Apollo by public transport (Hammersmith)
By The MyCritik editorial team · information checked on 12 October 2026
The Eventim Apollo, the Art Deco theatre known to generations of fans as the Hammersmith Odeon and later the Hammersmith Apollo, is one of the easiest London venues to reach by public transport. It stands on Queen Caroline Street, directly opposite the Broadway Shopping Centre, which houses both a Tube station and one of west London's main bus stations. The venue itself strongly advises against coming by car.
By Tube: Hammersmith
Hammersmith has two separate Tube stations, a few minutes' walk apart:
- Hammersmith (District and Piccadilly lines), inside the Broadway Shopping Centre, just across the road from the venue. The Piccadilly line is the direct route from Heathrow, Knightsbridge, Leicester Square or King's Cross St Pancras; the District line serves Earl's Court, Victoria, Westminster and the City.
- Hammersmith (Circle and Hammersmith & City lines), on Beadon Road, a short walk from the Broadway. These lines link Hammersmith with Paddington, Baker Street and King's Cross St Pancras.
The Eventim Apollo describes the station as wheelchair accessible (see the step-free section below).
By bus
Hammersmith bus station is also inside the Broadway Shopping Centre, opposite the venue. The Eventim Apollo lists routes 9, 10, 27, 33, 72, 190, 211, 220, 267, 283, 295, 391, 419 and H91. With so many routes, there is usually a direct bus to most parts of west and south-west London, including after the show. Check your route on the TfL Journey Planner, as services change.
By bike
The Lyric Hammersmith, a few minutes away, points to TfL cycle hire docking stations on Bridge Avenue, Southerton Road and Hammersmith Road.
By taxi
According to the venue, black cabs are available outside the venue and outside the Hammersmith Broadway exit leading to Hammersmith Road.
Getting home after the show
The doors open straight onto Queen Caroline Street, and the station and bus station are just across the road, so you can be on a train within minutes of leaving the auditorium. The District and Piccadilly station gets crowded at the end of a sold-out show: if you are heading north or towards Paddington, the Circle and Hammersmith & City station on Beadon Road is an alternative. The Piccadilly line has a Night Tube service on Friday and Saturday nights; on other nights, check the time of the last train for your journey on the TfL Journey Planner on the day.
Step-free access
The Eventim Apollo states that the Hammersmith station in the Broadway Shopping Centre, the Hammersmith & City line station and the bus station are wheelchair accessible. Step-free conditions at the platforms can vary by line and direction, and lifts are occasionally out of service, so check TfL's step-free information before you travel.
At the venue, you can enter by the front ramp, and the foyer, bars, Box Office, accessible toilets and all Stalls seats are step-free from the street. The Circle has no lift and requires at least 40 steps. A drop-off point is outside the venue on Queen Caroline Street.
