Where to eat near the Eventim Apollo before a gig
By The MyCritik editorial team · information checked on 12 October 2026
Hammersmith is a busy west London town centre, and the Eventim Apollo sits right in the middle of it. Within a five to ten-minute walk you will find burger joints, pubs, Asian and Persian restaurants, and a gastropub on the Thames. The venue does not allow outside food and drink, so eat before you go in.
Right next to the venue: Fulham Palace Road
The closest option is Honest Burgers, on Fulham Palace Road, a minute's walk from the venue: a popular pre-gig choice for a quick, sit-down meal.
Hammersmith Broadway and King Street
Around the Broadway and along King Street, the main shopping street heading west:
- Hop Poles, a pub on King Street, a few minutes' walk away;
- Bill's, on Hammersmith Grove, for brasserie-style dishes;
- Wagamama, in The Old Fire Station on Shepherds Bush Road;
- further along King Street, Mahdi (Persian) and Park's Kitchen (Korean), around ten minutes' walk.
By the river
Hammersmith's riverside is about five minutes' walk south of the venue. On the Lower Mall, the Blue Anchor is a gastropub right by the Thames. On a summer evening, it is a pleasant place for a drink before the show.
Hammersmith Road
Heading east towards Olympia, Faber, a wine and seafood restaurant on Hammersmith Road, is around five minutes' walk away.
Our tips
- Book for Friday and Saturday shows, especially at the sit-down restaurants close to the venue: they fill up with gig-goers.
- Eat before you go in: according to the venue's house rules, your own food and drink are not allowed inside, and drinks bought at the venue's bars can be taken into the auditorium only in plastic containers.
- Plan your meal around the door time on the event page, and allow for the queue and security checks.
- After the show, the pubs around the Broadway and King Street are the most convenient; check closing times before you count on a late drink.
